For several decades now Burgundy School of Business has been developing high-level programmes leading to professional qualifications. Far from discouraging us, the fact that the School is relatively less known than the Paris-based Grand Ecoles has forced us to offer programmes in which we possess a real competitive edge thanks to the assets and special features of our region. Indeed, it is no accident that our areas of advanced specialisation correspond to those sectors where Burgundy’s economic and cultural dynamism has long established a national and international reputation: wine, culture, pharmaceutical industry, health food and financial communication.

Our choices in this field have been vindicated on numerous occasions – first of all by companies which have been prompt to recruit our students not only for work placements but also for highly-qualified and highly-paid jobs commensurate with the heavy educational investment made. They have also been vindicated by the students themselves who are joining us in increasing numbers, ready to share a human, educational and professional adventure with us for several months. Vindicated, too, by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, which has accredited our MS (Specialised Masters) and MSc programmes, thereby providing tangible proof of the level of excellence required to consolidate our position among the top business schools. Finally, our choices have been vindicated by various independent experts such as the SMBG firm career guidance specialists who every year, in their now famous yellow guide, rank our programmes among the best in their category. Not to mention the national and international specialist press in which the new features of our programmes are regularly featured.

Anxious to keep pace with the profound changes sweeping through the world economy and to improve yet further our services to companies in terms of expertise, we are this year extending our offer in several fields:

  • The MS in Financial, Legal and Commercial Management of Insurance, in partnership with the reference institution in this sector: this is the only training course for high-level general managers in insurance to be found in the Grande Ecole environment.
  • The MSc in International Management meets the training needs of students seeking to add an international dimension to their CV.
  • The MSc in International Business Development aims to satisfy the international development requirements of French companies and the needs of students wishing to start their career on world markets, particularly in the context of an International in-Company Voluntary Service (Volontariat International en Entreprise – VIE).
  • The MSc in Wine Business (opening in September 2009) answers a request voiced for several years by companies working in the wine sector, and by hundreds of students encountered at trade fairs in France and abroad.
As part of the ambitious strategic plan launched last year, other development projects are already in the pipeline. They are all designed to ensure that we maintain and extend the value of the professional careers of those who will place their trust in us in the weeks, months and years ahead.
