Second Leadership Programme Class at Burgundy School of Business


"Unknown destination" for 10 students

 

For the second year in a row, Burgundy School of Business has opened its Leadership Programme to a select 10 Master degree students. The programme gives them the opportunity to prepare for the highly competitive Leadership Programme recruiting process within international firms such as Unilever, Carrefour or Renault. It includes the "unknown destinations" trip for an experience outside of their comfort zones.

This unique programme is part of the School's upmarket offer and is in line with its three strategic pillars : excellence, international focus and personalised student mentoring.

Leadership in and out of the classroom

The ten participants were chosen on very selective academic criteria and will benefit from three personal development seminars given by professional coaches between February and April 2015 : team building, emotion assertiveness and management as well as influential communication.

One of the strengths of the programme is the "unknown destination" trip, which consists in backpacking in a foreign country. It is the perfect authentic opportunity for students to put the personal development knowledge they acquired in the seminars into practice by taking themselves out of their comfort zones. After Morocco last year, this year's group went to Romania.

The trip was the best adventure of my life. I learnt a lot about myself as well as the other team members" said Guillaume Eichene. Roch Gindre, another participant from this year, added : " This trip was one of the most beautiful experiences in my life. If you live with the right state of mind, it can change you. "

Strong student mentoring for guaranteed success

When the students got back to Dijon, they benefited from tailor-made coaching sessions given by an executive coach, which was followed by a special BSB Career Centre week in order to prepare them for assessment center recruitment days.

This second phase of the programme had several objectives : prepare CVs and covering letters, phone, individual and group interviews, recruitment test training (cognitive, logic, business game tests), individual feedback and mentoring to help choose the Leadership Programmes most adapted to the students' respective professional projects.
