"I very much believe that BSB provides its students with an excellent preparation for future careers in business"

Gregg Glover, visiting Professor, Salem State University, Senior Common Room member, Harvard University School of Arts and Sciences: "I’m a great supporter of the “Excellence in Pedagogy” program as a model to introduce international perspective to BSB students"

This is the 4th time you come at BSB for our "Excellence in Pedagogy" module. Why are you so loyal to our Business School?
Teaching at the Burgundy School of Business and coming to Dijon has become a great highlight for me each year, one that I very much enjoy.  I’ve seen the school grow and achieve enormously in a short time, so it’s been exciting to be a part of it.  I’m a great supporter of the “Excellence in Pedagogy” program as a model to introduce international perspective to BSB students.  I also really enjoy teaching the students at BSB—they are very engaging, and devoted to succeeding as future professionals.

In a few words, what is your course "Leadership, Strategy and Decision Making" about?
My course grew from a leadership class I took during my doctoral program at Harvard.  The short course provides students with very practical and easy-to-use theory that they can employ as tools to inform strategy for action.  The theory centers on using “frame analysis” to understand better how organizations and businesses function, and how leaders and managers can become effective at making key decisions and setting vision.  The course also provides space and means for students to explore their own individual sense of leadership orientation, and to some extent, to develop their skills as future business leaders.  It’s an interactive course that relies on a great deal of case study discussion, much like you find in an American Business School class.

According to you, what makes BSB so special?
That is easy—it’s the students and the faculty, of course!  The BSB students bring great enthusiasm and perspective to the classroom, and the school is growing in exciting ways each year.  I very much believe that BSB provides its students with an excellent preparation for future careers in business through its commitment to international education and support of the faculty.  Its size also allows for a higher quality of student life.  And from what I see each year, BSB will continue to succeed and establish its place as a leading business school in France.

What would you say about Dijon and Burgundy?
I find Dijon to be a wonderful place in which to teach and visit.  It is located in a special region of France, and with terrific people who enjoy life in a beautiful setting.  It must be an equally wonderful place to be a student studying business, with amazing opportunities in a safe and engaging environment.  The city is a treasure, and I love the architecture and friendliness of its residents.  I look forward to returning each year.
