Programme Ohio: Celebrating 10 years of working together!

The GCP Global Consulting Program OHIO – ESC Dijon is already 10 years old!

The tenth edition of this multicultural consulting program for local Burgundy businesses took place from June 14th – July 2nd, 2010. The Burgundy School of Business (BSB) welcomed 20 American students who worked with 11 French students in groups of 4 or 5 to carry out an international consulting project for six partner companies: Laboratoires URGO, Leroy Merlin, Librairie Chapitre - Lib de l'U, Planète Tigre, Agence 21 and Strategic Event.

The projects had real importance for each of these companies and looked at very real problems for them such as commercial development, market research, creating international internships, event planning, employee training and improving customer satisfaction. Each of these issues was referred by the clients to their group of students. The objectives of this program are to bring added value to local businesses, emphasize the Burgundy School of Business's links to local companies, and to give an on the ground experience to students in well known corporations.

The two weeks of "real world" international consulting, preceded by one week of training at BSB were a great success. In fact, six of the French students are following up their consulting projects with an internship or a gap year in several of the partner companies.

" The GCP OHIO – ESC Dijon was an awesome experience for me. I was likely to improve many skills, in an international work. I learned a lot of things in only two weeks of work about the “events industry” and I believe that it’s one of the strengths of this program: we learn about a sector, a market or a firm in few days but it’s really intensive. Rather than have a look in only one firm during our first internship, we are able to discover much, with people coming from a different culture than ours.

Showing than we are curious, open-minded, and that we make some efforts in order to match one, two or three internships in four months should be appreciated on my resume.

Finally I have to be well organized in order to combine my 3 jobs: OHIO, the following of my clients from my other internship, and the work in the Fédération.
