MSc in Wine Business, 2009-2010

Burgundy School of Business is one of the prestigious "Grande Ecoles". The School is located in the centre of Dijon, the capital of Burgundy where some of the best wines in the world are produced. This is one of the reasons why the MSc Wine Business Programme fits perfect to the ambitions for those who want to create opportunities and are seeking managerial positions in the wine sector.

For me personally certain epiphanies related to the beauty of wine, the experience of distributing wines for student parties during my study in Holland and studying Business Administration let me to the choice to apply for this programme. For me the option to combine my commercial orientation and the attraction to wine with the goal to become a professional in the international wine industry was perfect. The attention for you as an individual student from the application process to now, was in my experience very nice.

The programme deals with many aspects of the wine industry with an academically and commercial point of view. I like the fact that it is a small class, with ambitious classmates and almost all the classes are interactive and there is room for discussion. So there is a great opportunity to discuss your own beliefs and ideas with the class. The professors are also coming from an international network. With the applied technology of organizing a web-conference, there are lectures from experts all around the world. As the entire progamme is provided in English, there is the great opportunity to follow French classes (at different levels) that help you to learn the language fast.

"Good wine needs no bush" is a famous quote from William Shakespeare, but is it? Is having a good product enough? How does the consumer makes his or her choice in buying wine? How to attract new consumers? These are some questions that are dealt with to provide insight in the market.

Above this the international atmosphere at the School is great. It is interesting to learn about new cultures and having a big variety of nationalities in your class. To be part of a new culture and learning a new language is a great experience and opportunity.

If you want to live in a beautiful city in the capital of Burgundy, want to learn about and taste wine, meet people from all around the world with different cultures and therefore creating an international network, learn or approve languages, to be educated in a very professional business school, become a professional in a fascinating industry with a master degree and to have a great educational and fun time take this great chance! I am sure that I have chosen the right direction in order to prepare myself to work within the international business environment.
